Winter driving - what to remember

Winter and cold weather are fast approaching,
and the first night frost has already announced its arrival.
Therefore, it is time to pay attention to a number of conditions when you drive at winter time.

We have listet the 5 most important advice for considerate carriage driving including:

1. Check for enough pattern on the wheels of the wagon. This applies in particular to pull wheels and steering wheels.
The tread depth should be at least 5 mm on both steering and towing wheels.

2. The truck should be equipped with a shovel which the driver can use in difficult situations.
You should also ensure that the load is properly distributed so that good friction can be achieved on the drive and steering wheels.
ABS/EBS systems and similar systems should be active.

3. As far as possible, remove all ice and snow from the roof of the vehicle before driving.
It is the driver's responsibility if ice or snow falls that harms other vehicles or bicycles on the road.
There are about 25 public snow bridges around the country, where you can remove ice and snow from the roof of the vehicle for free, without the risk of falling down.
Find the nearest snow bridge here: www.snebroer.dk

4. It is important that the driver is dressed for the cold winter weather with warm clothes. Most important is warm footwear that ensures that you stand firmly on ice and snow.

5. Before driving in other countries with frost and snow, it is a good idea to check that country's requirements for winter tyres. You can see the rules of the countries' winter tyres here.

Safe travels 🙂
