In October 2021, the ordering of driver's licenses was moved from the Police to the Danish Road Safety Agency as an authority.
In addition, it became possible to order driver's licenses online, where previously you had to stop by a police station reception.
Today you can order your new driver card via borger.dk. You will find the tab under 'Transport, traffic, travel.

For the driver card application, you must have the following ready:
1. MItID.
2. Digital image
3. Image of the front and back of your driver's license. (if it is your first driver's license)
The digital image can be a passport photo or a good-looking picture taken against a white wall. The file format must be .jpg

It takes about 10 business days for the driver card to arrive in your mailbox.
